Advance Machining & Gear Adds New Machinery

CNC MACHINERY
In conjunction with their move to a new facility, ADVANCE MACHINING & GEAR has greatly increased both their CNC Milling and CNC Turning capacity, allowing them to increase the types of milling they can do for customers, as well increase overall production, keeping turnaround times low.

"One of the great advantages is that we now have 5 CNC lathes with over 3" diameter through spindle capacity," says Jeremy Hamilton, owner. "Previously we only had 2 machines with this capacity; this really gives us an advantage with customers who need large-bore CNC Turning. Adding more CNC machines as we grow is critical to keeping our lead times to a minimum. Our reputation of being the most responsive machine shop around really means a lot to us."

"We've also added an automatic CMM machine with 5 Axis inspection ability. This gives us a real advantage as we set our goals for quality, because this machine has the ability to do highly accurate Quality Control checks--within 4 microns," says Hamilton.

CNC's Added:

• 2 - Haas VF-2 Vertical Milling Centers with XYZ Axis Travel of 36", 14", and 20" respectively; plus a 3rd axis.
• 2- Haas SL30 Turning Centers with XY Axis Travel of 17" & 34", and a 3" Spindle Through-Hole capacity on these is 3".
• Haas SL30 Big Bore Turning Center with the same XY Axis as the SL30, but a 4" Spindle Through-Hole capacity.

CMM EQUIPMENT ADDED:

• Sheffield 5 Axis CNC CMM
• Faro Portable CMM

OTHER EQUIPMENT ADDED:

• Hydmech Programmable Saw
